Mandatories

Brand DNA fields capturing what must appear on every relevant asset. Logos, products, brand assets, legal copy, disclaimers, compliance language. Stamped automatically by Composer; blocks export if missing on regulated brands.

Also called: mandatory copy, mandatory legal copy, must-includes

Mandatories are the must-include elements on every relevant asset. They live on the Brand DNA as a brand-wide field, so the brand always carries them. Composer stamps them on every ad automatically.

Two flavors

  • Brand mandatories. Logos, lockups, signature taglines, brand-required imagery elements. Configured once on the Brand DNA; carried on every ad for that brand forever.
  • Mandatory legal copy. Regulator-required text: pharma claims, financial disclaimers, gambling fine print, alcohol responsibility lines, country-specific compliance. Configured on the Brand DNA so it fires on every relevant ad automatically.

Why this is a hard constraint, not a guideline

Mandatories are the field where “it got left off” is a compliance event, not a typo. A pharma asset shipped without the required risk disclosure is a regulatory issue. A financial ad without the fee disclaimer is a CASL or SEC issue depending on jurisdiction. Brandflux treats mandatories as render-time constraints rather than checklist items. Composer stamps them, asset preparation validates them, and regulated brands block at export if a required mandatory is missing.

Why this is a one-time setup

For brands in regulated verticals (fintech, health, alcohol, gambling), mandatories on the Brand DNA mean the compliance review converges on a configuration once, then every video ad produced for that brand inherits the configuration automatically. You set it up, confirm it looks right, and stop thinking about it on every single ad.
